Admission

The admission is given on First Come First Serve basis and is based on the performance in the entrance test. For Admission to a certain class, a student must be studying in that class or should have passed the prior class. Students, who are admitted during an academic session will be required to pay the tuition fee with effect from the month in which the admission is processed. Students given conditional admission can be asked to leave the school if they are unable to achieve required academic standards or pass in the following Term Exam.

The opening date for admissions is announced at the website. New students join classes at the start of the new academic session. The school administration reserves the right to refuse admission to any candidate without giving reason.

 

 

ADMISSION PROCEDURES FLOW CHART

Step 1. Online Registration through school website www.bfis.qa  

Step 2. Non-refundable admission test / interview fee to be submitted in the accounts section.   

Step 3. Exam cell issues the date of admission test and conducts test according to the following:

  • Last Class Attended.
  • Age described by Ministry of Education & Higher Education, Qatar.

Step 4. Results of the admission tests will be communicated to the parents through an email.

Step 5. If a child is selected, parents will submit the necessary documents to process admission formalities.

ADMISSION CRITERIA

KINDERGARTEN

For kindergarten classes, an informal individual assessment is done. Generally, vocabulary, concepts of colours, numbers, confidence level, level of spoken and understanding English and motor skills are assessed.

FROM YEAR 1 - 10

Applicants for Year 1-10 are required to sit in a written test in three subjects i.e. English, Science, and Mathematics. The pass percentage is 50%. The test papers are not set from any particular textbook or syllabus but are of a general nature, designed to assess the attainment level of the applicant according to his/her class last attended in the previous institution.

 

FROM YEAR 11-13

  • Admission is granted in the years 11-13 on the basis of the students’ performance in external exams for the previous class. The minimum requirement is 50% for FBISE classes and minimum of ‘C’ Grade for IGCSE / AS & A Level, however the school academic council reserves the right to accept or deny any admission request.
  • No candidate for admission at this Institution at any level will be entertained without residence permit / Qatar ID.
  • The age bracket identified by Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Qatar will be  

            strictly adhered to.

  • Merit set for admission in Edexcel, UK/ FBISE, Federal Board, Pakistan classes will be

           followed.

  • The cutting dates set for admission by Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Qatar will be strictly adhered to.

 

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION

Admission remains provisional and is not confirmed unless the following documents are produced:

  • photocopy of Birth Certificate
  • four passport-size photographs (for the school identity card and personal file).
  • report Card and School Leaving Certificate from the previous school (if any).
  • photocopy of Parents and Child’s valid passport.
  • parent QID photocopy.
  • student QID /Residency Visa copy.
  • letter of employment from Child’s sponsors workplace
  • immunization card (Only for KG 1- year 3)
  • copy of receipt for payment of Admission Fee Bill and allied charges.

ADMISSION CONFIRMATION

The admission confirmation will be granted after the payment of the relevant fees to the accounts office. Further to it, the Exam office will allot the section for the respective class.

WITHDRAWALS

  • On parents’ request.
  • By the school management.
  • Completion of Schooling.
  • Fee defaulter.
  • Long absence.
  • Misconduct/ indiscipline
  • Failure twice in the same class in the Annual Exams.
  • Age restriction set by Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Qatar

SCHOOL LEAVING CERTIFICATE

The Parents / Guardian may withdraw their ward from the school at any time. Parents are required to submit an application for withdrawal via a written application one month before the desired date of withdrawal i.e. they must give one month notice in writing. A school-leaving certificate is issued after all the school dues have been paid along with necessary clearance from relevant departments.  It will be given along with the security refund to the parents by the Accounts Office. Outstanding fees if any will be deducted from the security deposit. If withdrawal is made after the 10th of the month, then the fees are payable for the whole of month.

If a student takes admission but does not attend the school even for a single day, and applies for withdrawal within a week time, the school will refund only the security deposit but the tuition fee and allied charges will not be refunded. The students withdrawn on completion of an academic session, with or without notice, are liable to pay the fee for the whole of that academic year i.e. 12 months, even if he /she does not take examination. Once the formalities and adjustment of the outstanding dues have been completed, the balance of the security deposit is refunded by cheque made payable to the father or mother. If the third party wishes to collect the cheque on behalf of the parents, a letter of authorization signed by the parents is required, and the deputed person must present his or her identity card.
